Farmington Valley Orthodontics Patients

What to Expect

The goal of any new orthodontic patient visit is to get to know you! We look forward to meeting you and getting to know a little bit more about what motivates you to seek a healthy smile.

During the new patient visit, we will answer three main questions:

* Complete Records

While for most patients there is one clear treatment plan, more complex cases may involve multiple treatment options and therefore, deserve complete records.

Complete records consist of x-rays, photos, and study models followed by a conference to discuss the pros and cons along with the advantages and disadvantages of various treatment plans.

There is a fee for full records which is applied towards the final cost of treatment.

Health History Forms

As part of your complimentary new patient visit, your will be asked to complete a patient registration form. For your convenience, below are PDF versions of the forms.

Additional Info

As long as the patient registration form has been completed prior to your new patient visit, we will have your insurance information. Our financial coordinator will review your insurance benefits so that we can give you a better idea of out-of-pocket costs for orthodontics at your new patient visit.
We typically conduct an initial exam and review the TMJ, teeth, and bite to give you our orthodontic assessment and treatment recommendations. Sometimes, a panoramic x-ray may be recommended when one has not been taken before or when questions arise during an exam and more information is needed.

If x-rays are taken, a fee applies. As a courtesy, our financial coordinator submits a claim on your behalf to the insurance company; any benefits that can be utilized for the x-ray are paid directly to you by the insurance company.

When we consider a patient ready to start orthodontic treatment, we always recommend a set of digital photos. These complimentary photos take just a few minutes and assist us in two very important ways. They are utilized to create your individual treatment plan and allow us to communicate our treatment findings and recommendations more effectively with your general dentist. Say cheese!
