Now’s the Time

If you’ve never been seen by an orthodontist, now is the time. Most girls will have all their adult teeth by twelve and boys by thirteen years of age. Whether you’re early or late to lose all your baby teeth, that’s okay. Dr. Menjivar will be able to assess your dental development and readiness to start braces and orthodontics.

It’s ideal when children are still growing

The pre-teen and teenage years are an ideal time to have comprehensive orthodontic treatment when children are still growing. More About Teen Orthodontic Treatments

At the first visit, you’ll learn the various ways in which your bite and smile differ from an ideal model of perfect teeth.

Following the initial exam, Dr. Menjivar will share with you her findings and any recommendations for treatment. She’ll explain which orthodontic problems are more functional and which may be considered more cosmetic.

You’ll also have an opportunity to ask questions about what to expect with braces and how they will impact your lifestyle.

Finally, we’ll show you the different colored ties placed around the braces that can be changed at every visit. Some patients choose these colors to match holidays, school or team colors, and favorite colors
