Community Showed Support for Halloween Candy Buy Back

A huge thank you to all who came out in support of our 1st Annual Candy Buy Back for Operation Gratitude. The event was a huge success as we were able to collect over 220 pounds of candy to send in care packages to troops serving overseas. In addition to current patients, many residents from Avon, Simsbury, Canton and surrounding communities helped to make it a successful candy buy back by dropping off their excess Halloween candy and trading it for cash. Companies including Pro Health Physicians and TD Bank also showed support with their own candy contributions.

Sending Candy to the Troops

Many children also wrote cards of support and appreciation for the troops which will be sent with the candy. The day was filled with Halloween treats and raffles for whitening kits from Opal Orthodontics and an electric toothbrush from Philips Sonicare. Oral hygiene goodie bags full of promotional products were given to all participants. Products were donated by Patterson Dental, Dart, 3M/Unitek, Opal, Nexadental, Benco, and GAC. Finally, several companies including American Orthodontics, Invisalign, and Hayes offered donations to cover the shipping costs.
