Season’s Greetings from Farmington Valley Orthodontics!
We hope that 2015 has brought you health, happiness and prosperity and that 2016 will be an even better year. The past twelve months have brought some exciting changes that we wanted to share with you.
The office has completed its transition to digital charts and has become more environmentally friendly using electronic statements and recycled paper for dental tray covers. Other updates include the creation of a new logo, staff uniforms, and website (same URL at www.iwantbraces.com), and an office renovation! Our fresh look will be complete in January. This summer, we held a photo shoot for patients and their families. Many of these portraits can be seen on our new website and will soon adorn the walls of our updated office.
Farmington Valley Orthodontics was pleased to support a variety of charitable causes this year including graduation events at Avon, Simsbury, Farmington, and Canton High Schools, Avon Summer Theater, Simsbury High School Theater, the Friends of Avon Literary Luncheon, the Avon UNICO Annual Golf Tournament and the 24th Annual Canton Middle School PTO Lobster 5K Race.
Dr. Menjivar also offered a community presentation on Early Orthodontics for Moms and Dads from the Farmington Valley. The event, held at Abigail’s Grille and Wine Bar in Simbsury, focused on educating parents on when early treatment may be beneficial. The grand prize raffle was a complimentary early orthodontic treatment.
In November, Farmington Valley Orthodontics held its 1st Annual Halloween Candy Buy Back. Thanks to the support of our patients, the community at large, and dental representatives, the event was a huge success! We donated over 220 pounds of candy to Operation Gratitude which is sent in care packages to troops serving overseas.
Throughout the year, Dr. Menjivar attended numerous continuing education courses to bring you with the latest information and innovation. These orthodontic seminars included the annual meeting of the American Association of Orthodontists in San Francisco, the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists meeting in Providence, Invisalign study clubs, and local meetings of the Hartford and Bristol Dental Societies.
We are fortunate to have a new addition to the Team at Farmington Valley Orthodontics. Hopefully you have all had an opportunity to meet Dawn, our new orthodontic assistant. She comes to us with tremendous experience, having been an orthodontic assistant for over 14 years.
